At the invitation of President Denis Sassou N’Guesso, Mozambican President Daniel Chapo made a two-day state visit to the Republic of the Congo on October 6 and 7, 2026.
Accompanied by a delegation of ministers and business leaders, the Mozambican president held a one-on-one meeting with his Congolese counterpart to give new impetus to bilateral relations.
Discussions focused in particular on strengthening historical ties, developing trade, stimulating mutual investment, and harmonizing positions on the African stage.
President Chapo’s visit was marked by a tribute paid on October 6 at the Marien-Ngouabi Mausoleum, followed on October 7 by a trip to Pointe-Noire accompanied by Prime Minister Anatole Collinet Makosso.
The visit concluded on October 7 with the signing of several strategic agreements between the two countries.
