2026 Annual Meetings: African Leaders Call for Increased Infrastructure Investment on the Continent

The presidents of Gabon, Brice Oligui Nguema; the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadéra; and the President called, on behalf of the continent’s leaders, for increased investment in the areas of energy, infrastructure, industrialization, and climate finance during a meeting on May 26 in Brazzaville.

They also urged the continent to mobilize more private capital to boost its development agenda in the presence of Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the African Development Bank Group.

The leaders addressed an audience gathered at the Kintélé International Conference Center, comprising senior government officials, governors of the African Development Bank Group, financial sector leaders, development partners, and other stakeholders, including private sector and civil society leaders. The theme of the Annual Meetings is “Mobilizing Large-Scale Resources for Africa’s Development Financing in a Fragmented World.”
