Ouesso : Start of work on the CEMAC 13 road corridor and the bridge over the Sangha River
On Saturday 20 May, President Denis Sassou-N'Guesso launched the asphalting of the Ouesso/Pokola section, which will open up the populations of the departments of Sangha and Likouala, in order to restore to these regions their vocation as crossroads and transit areas.
Accompanied by the Minister of State Jean-Jacques Bouya, in charge of Land Management, Infrastructure and Road Maintenance, President Denis Sassou-N'Guesso also laid the foundation stone for the Sangha River bridge, which is scheduled for completion in 36 months. This structure, 616 meters long and 9 meters wide, calibrated to support a daily traffic of 1000 vehicles, will become the longest crossing structure of the country.
The bridge and the Ouesso/Pokola section are part of the Corridor 13 project. A priority project of the CEMAC, this 1,300-kilometer corridor will link the Republic of Congo to the Central African Republic and Chad.
Held in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd, this ceremony was the highlight of his three-day working visit to this department.
