Laying of the foundation stone for the new headquarters of the Congolese Housing Bank!

On 19 December in Brazzaville, His Excellency Denis Sassou N'Guesso presided over the official ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the future headquarters of the Banque Congolaise de l'Habitat (BCH), marking the symbolic start of construction work on this landmark building for the national banking and real estate sector.

The Banque Congolaise de l'Habitat, a financial institution dedicated to financing housing and supporting real estate projects aimed at improving access to housing, will thus be equipped with a modern headquarters suited to its development ambitions. This project is fully in line with the Government's vision of promoting access to home ownership, revitalising the housing sector and sustainably structuring the Congolese financial market.

The laying of this foundation stone symbolises not only the launch of a major construction project, but also the affirmation of a strong political will to strengthen national housing finance instruments for the benefit of families, investors and economic actors in the country. It also illustrates the Congolese government's commitment to modernising financial infrastructure, encouraging local investment and creating an environment conducive to the development of the real estate sector.

In presiding over the ceremony, the Head of State emphasised the importance of the Congolese Housing Bank as a lever for social and economic development, designed to facilitate access to decent housing for a greater number of Congolese people and contribute to the structural transformation of the national economy.

The construction of this new headquarters is also part of a broader drive to strengthen governance and modernise the Congolese banking system, in line with the guidelines of the National Development Plan and the national strategy for promoting housing.
