On August 22, 2024, President Denis Sassou N'Guesso warmly welcomed former Nigerian leader Olusegun Obasanjo to Oyo. During this friendly meeting, the two leaders visited several sites dedicated to agriculture and livestock, strategic sectors for Congo's development. Among the sites visited were farms, cattle and ostrich farms, and a state-of-the-art slaughterhouse.
